Formulation Scientist

Job Description

  • Should have knowledge in development of solid oral dosage forms, solid dosage (Tablets and Capsules) for NDA or ANDA submission.
  • Design and develop robust formulation and scalable manufacturing processes, process scale up based on Quality by Design (QbD).
  • Patent evaluation and Strategy development for the different formulations.
  • Evaluate relevant characteristics of raw materials and experimental batches in effort to identify and develop robust formulations.
  • Manage project activities, timelines and deliverables.
  • Generate, maintain and review drug product development documents, manufacturing batch records, and other study related documents.
  • Generate and/or review SOP's and protocols pertaining to execution of relevant activities as per GMP requirements.
  • Knowledge of NDA/ANDA and other regulatory submissions as needed.

Formulation Scientist

Pharmacy and or Chemical Engineering


  • Masters in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline and PhD will be a plus
  • Minimum 5-10 Yrs of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge on drug development process.
  • Required travel will be a minimum of 20% or as needed to support the project.
  • A solid understanding of Pharmaceutical sciences, controlled release drug delivery technologies, Chemistry, GI Physiology and Pharmaceutical Engineering.
  • Work proactively with analytical team, QA, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and other groups.
  • Make oral and/or written presentations of work to management within and outside the Research and Development department.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong management, interpersonal, leadership, and organizational abilities required.
  • Would be a good team player with technical acumen.
  • Shall have at least 5 years of supervisory experience.

Product Development Technician

Job Description

Technicians assist the Product Development team with product development initiatives. Technicians are responsible for maintaining the Laboratory, documents, operating R & D equipments (Granulators, Fluid Bed Dryer, Blenders, Tablet press, Capsule machine and Coaters), preparing product samples, organizing and maintaining raw-materials, documentation of research results and report to the Scientists.

Job Duties

  1. Responsibility for keeping track of Raw-materials and Samples.
  2. Recording data at every step of the production process, ranging from recording. observations to measuring samples to testing documentation.
  3. Operate equipments needed for sample production.
  4. Tracking raw-materials and finished product samples.
  5. Controlling, maintaining and scheduling the equipments inside the plant.
  6. Conducting sample in-process testing in a research laboratory.
  7. Accurate record keeping and entry of data into Excel or other software.
  8. Operate and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment as needed.

Requirements of Position

  1. High School diploma, Associate Degree or equivalent to two year or four year college or technical school with minimum 3 years experience is preferred.
  2. Concrete sample preparation or laboratory experience highly desirable.
  3. Prior experience in a Product Development/R&D environment preferred.
  4. Knowledge of formulation work is plus.
  5. Must be proficient in basic math, measuring techniques and have experience in MS Excel for data entry and basic calculation.
  6. Some driving may required (10 - 20 miles).
  7. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  8. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, and to speak effectively before small groups.
  9. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or verbal instructions.
